It seems like Manchester United have handed a massive transfer blow in their pursuit for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco, as the Spaniard has revealed he is on the verge of signing a new contract to keep his stay at the La Liga giants.
The 25-year-old playmaker has been linked with a transfer to a host of clubs this summer including Chelsea and Manchester United. He was rumoured to be unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu after initially struggling for game time in the first half of the campaign.
The former Malaga man has now insisted he plans to stay at Real Madrid after Los Blancos won their second successive Champions League.
During his interview, the Spanish maestro spoke about his future: ‘My contract? I hope to renew soon and there’s no better place to play football than Madrid.
‘If I knew that things would end like this, I’d take it every season. It’s Madrid’s third Champions League in four years and my third as a professional.
‘I could’ve never dreamt of this, but it’s thanks to this family, who made it easier.
‘The first half was much more difficult against a great team in all aspects. In the second half, we saw the best Madrid performance of the entire season.’ Added the Spain international.
