Man Utd have failed in their pursuit of La Liga giants Real Madrid playmaker Isco according to reports from Spain.

It is reported that the Spaniard, who suffered heartbreak yesterday as his country were knocked out from the world-cup by the hosts Russia.

According to Don Balon, Man Utd have contracted with European champions over the aviability of Spain international attacker.

The same sources claims the Red Devils submitted an ambitious £160m offer in a bid to lure Isco at Old Trafford.

However with the Lo Blancos said to be considering the offer, Isco himself is keen on to remain at Santiago Bernabeu.

Don Balon believe 26-year-old Isco, while attracted to the Red Devils, is unwilling to play for Jose Mourinho as he feels that Portuguese manager’s tactics could harm his game.

In the past few years, Mourinho has been often criticised for Man Utd fans for preferring Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku over smaller players like Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial.

Last term he was instrumental for Man Utd won the Champions League for the third straight campaign.
