Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with Belgian international defender Toby Alderweireld for quite some time and he once again appears on the radar of Premier League giants.
The Red Devils have already signed a full-back midfielder and a goalkeeper to strengthen their squad for the next season, while Chelsea are yet to make a move in the market following the uncertainty of their managerial situation.
They have been in search of a new centre-back and a quality defender like Alderweireld would be a perfect fit for both Chelsea and Man Utd.
A few days back, Italian source Tutto Mercato Web reported that the Red Devils are the favourite to secure the services of former Ajax defender.
Last month, ESPN reported that Premier League duo were ready to pay £50million, however, the Spurs are demanded a fee closer to £70million (€79million) for their prized asset.
The Red Devils are still hoping to pay around £50million but the north Londoners are demanding a fee worth £60million.
The 29-year-old star was mostly injured in the last Premier League season, however, he has been regular for Belgium national team that reached the semi-finals of the world-cup tournament.
