Jose Mourinho identified £53m-rated South American star as a perfect replacement for Luke Shaw
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Manchester United have received unfortunate news in their race for the Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, with the Brazilian planning to spend more time in Turin Juventus.
The Brazil international joined Juventus from FC Porto and has managed to play over 100 matches in all competitions. Sandro has also played for the Brazilian national team on ten occasions and has been associated with a move to the Red Devils due to his remarkable form in Serie A.
Chelsea and Manchester United are allegedly in the pursuit of signing the 27-year-old defender. The Old Trafford club have been told he’s currently not thinking about a move to the English side. The Brazilian also stated that he still has two years left on his deal.
Federico Pastorello thinks that the Brazilian left-back won’t renew his deal with the “Old Lady”, while also stating that he’s looking into the probability of mediating a move to England.
Alex Sandro is estimated at approximately £53m, so he wouldn’t be a cheap replacement for Luke Shaw.
Notwithstanding the English international’s improvement in form, Man United boss seems to be looking at alternative left-backs and might decide to make a move for a more notable talent to challenge their rival club, Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
PSG slap €100m price tag to Man Utd’s dream transfer target
Marco Verratti will cost Manchester United at smallest €100 million to take him away from PSG after he reportedly signed a deal at the club.
As per the L’Equipe, Verratti has put pen to paper on a deal meriting €12m per season at the Parc des Princes that will continue his hold by a year to 2022.
The Italian international has scored two goals and assisted further three in Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season, having created 25 chances in 20 matches over the two competitions.
He has made 1,716 passes having said an accuracy of 91 percent, and he has showcased his talent to skip past opponents in midfield having happily pulled off 28 of his 33 tried take-on.
Verratti is more of a ball controller than a ball-winner, but he has also made 29 tackles and made 24 interceptions.
Michael Carrick is 36 and has played just once this term having had to the dilemma with a heart condition, and there’s scope for someone to hold down an area with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.
Verratti would be an excellent buy for either club, but praising him away from Les Parisiens will be very hard, all the more so after his reported new deal, so they may be taken to look elsewhere.
Man United ready to plot £22m for Belgian wonderkid
According to the latest news in British media, Manchester United is linked with a move to sign Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker who is free to leave the club this summer if a buyer meets his £22million valuation.
Manchester United watched the midfielder on some occasions last season, and he was fascinated by Anderlecht’s defeat versus the Red Devils in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Dendoncker’s agent affirmed in the summer that his client was keen on leaving Belgium and his head had been turned by attention from Manchester United.
However, Anderlecht’s decision to keep the midfielder against his wishes has backfired somewhat, and they’re willing to accept around £22m for him this month, according to the Sun.
Jose Mourinho’s side spent £145m last summer, but Portuguese manager says he needs more support in the transfer market if United are to make up ground on Manchester City.
The 54-year-old is targeting PSG winger Julian Draxler this summer, as well as two full-backs.
However, with Dendoncker available at such a cut-price United could move for him this summer given his price could rise in the nearby future.
