Manchester United transfer target Lorenzo Pellegrini is staying with Roma, and that’s according to Roma chief Monchi, who has also discussed the future of Chelsea-linked centre-back Kostas Manolas. Italian midfielder has turned the heads of scouts from across the continent since returning to Serie A giants from Sassuolo last summer.
The Manchester Evening News claimed the Red Devils are admirers of the midfielder, who could replace Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford. Manchester United may have been plotting a raid on the Italian outfit if they missed out on a deal for their No 1 target, Lazio ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Monchi has provided an update on where Pellegrini’s future lies while speaking about Manolas.
“I heard Kostas three, four times, in the future he will do the DS, he likes it,” said Monchi. “He is happy with the team, all I heard of him is staying here.”I read that Chelsea can pay the clause until today I do not know if they have a coach. I do not understand. It seems to me a peaceful situation.
“With respect to Pellegrini, a week ago I had an appointment with [Pellegrini’s agent Giampiero] Pocetta, we have not talked about this possibility. Lorenzo and Kostas are 100 percent for Rome, it is important for the future.”
