Merseysiders moved in to sign The 22-year-old versatile Arsenal defender

June 18, 2017

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has reportedly earned interest from Everton.

The Englishman has just spent a campaign on loan at Middlesbrough, where he played 26 matches in all tournaments.

But, now he has returned to the Emirates Stadium, his fate appears unlikely with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger looking to make major additions during the summer.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Everton could look to the 22-year-old if they are failed in signing Burnley defender Michael Keane at Goodison Park.

If they push ahead with their original interest, Chambers could cost around £15m as Arsenal look to regain much of the fee they gave Southampton in 2014.

The versatile defender has played a total of 59 matches for the North London side in all tournaments.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly submitted an offer to land Juventus attacker Juan Cuadrado in the summer transfer window.

The South American star has impressed across two campaigns on loan with Juventus from Chelsea, and it revelled last month that the 29-year-old had finalised a three-year deal with the Serie A champions.

However, as reported by  The Sun, Juve have had to ward off Arsenal’s advances in last weeks and rejected a £17.6million offer from the north London side for Cuadrado.

It’s believed Arsenal’ bid was same to the figure Massimiliano Allegri’s side thought Chelsea for the Colombia international.

Arsenal are ready for life without Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates, and Arsene Wenger is in the race for the 28-year-old’s successor ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Reports suggest Sanchez is unwilling to leave London in the coming months and would instead favour a move across the capital to Stamford Bridge.

Man City and Bayern Munich stay interested in the Chile star.
