According to the former Arsenal player and currently football pundit Paul Person, the Gunners superstar Alexis Sanchez is surely on his way out of the Emirates but he doubts if any top clubs would want to pay big money to land the inconsistent Mesut Ozil.
The ex-Real Madrid maestro has been the subject of much criticism of late, with supporters and pundits alike laying the blame at his door for the club’s poor run of form.
The 28-year-old Germany international has long been seen as lazy and ineffective in big matches, particularly for a player who cost the Gunners a club-record £42m to sign from Real Madrid back in 2013.
Paul Merson now feels there’s no other top club who’d pay up for him due to his habit of going missing so often for the Gunners.
During his interview with Daily Star, Merson said: ‘Sanchez is not staying. He wants to go and win stuff. He must be losing £80,000 a week by not signing. He’s not staying. No chance.
‘Who knows with Ozil? I can’t see another big club paying the sort of money he wants for someone who doesn’t show up half the time.’ He added.
