Jose Mourinho is expected to splash the cash this summer and is tracking the West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic. The Portuguese boss even watched the Austrian in action for his country last week in a World Cup warm clash against Russia.
Mourinho has supposedly instructed Red Devils chiefs to sign a striker and Arnautovic is on his wishlist. The former Inter Milan and Stoke star could be lining up for Mourinho next term as he continues to overhaul his squad.
Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke last summer in a deal worth £24m and is said to be valued at around £50m now. West Ham are keen to keep hold of the Austria international after he bagged 11 goals and recorded six assists last season. The owners want European football and will need to battle to keep hold of Arnautovic.
The Austria international attacker played a major role as he helped David Moyes’ West Ham side avoid relegation from the Premier League last season. After good season Arnautovic became a man who will help Mourinho to improve United’s forward line.
