The Spanish media suggest that La Liga champions Real Madrid are considering whether to offer Raphael Varane or Alvaro Morata to Manchester United in part-exchange for their goalkeeper David de Gea.
The Champions League holders are desperate to sign the Spain international and have made him a top transfer priority this summer. But, the Red Devils are reluctant sellers and will resist all attempts from Real Madrid to sign their No.1 keeper.
Los Blancos are aware they face a serious task to convince Man United to sell one of their key players, after the Red Devils slapped a sensational £80m price tag on the star.
The Red Devils have been linked with Varane and Morata in the last week and La Liga sense an opportunity to use the pair as bait. They are prepared to offer one of their top stars in a bid to tempt United into selling De Gea.
Varane and Morata both 24-years-old, would cost a huge amount by themselves and would be a difficult exchange for Jose Mourinho to turn down.
The Special One is prepared to listen to offers for De Gea, but wants a replacement in place should the Spain international depart.
