Juventus are willing to wait for Anthony Martial to run down his contract at Old Trafford and sign the forward on a free transfer. It is a well-known fact that the 22-year-old wishes to leave the club this summer having grown frustrated with life under Jose Mourinho.
The Frenchman has turned down the club’s offer of a new contract with France Football claiming the Portuguese specialist is set to let him go this summer. Manchester United are not willing to let their forward leave on the cheap, however, and Tuttosport claims that the Red Devils have told Juventus to pay £79m for his services – a fee they are not ready to match.
The Italy champions found themselves in a similar position last summer in their attempts to sign Emre Can from Liverpool, who had just one year remaining on his contract. Unwilling to meet the valuation of the German midfielder once it became clear he was not willing to sign a new deal, Juventus instead put the move on hold and are now poised to sign the midfielder on a free transfer on 1 July, having already agreed terms.
The same source suggests Juventus could try the same tactic with Anthony Martial.
