AC Milan have refused a £44m offer from Manchester United for Alessio Romagnoli. The defender is one of a number of centre-back on Jose Mourinho’s list as the Portuguese wants to improve United back-line during this transfer window. 23-year-old paid big clubs attention after an impressive season and Chelsea also interested to sign young defender. Mourinho wants to sign Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld but United also considers other options after Spurs demanded £75m for the Belgian defender.
Romagnoli joined Milan from Roma in 2015 with a £25m deal and since then he became a key player in Rossoneri defence. Milan bosses think that Alessio cost is much more than £44m and if United won’t increase their offer Romagnoli will stay in Italy. Italian club were kicked out of the EuroCompetition last week as they violate Uefa Financial Fair Play Fiorentina placed in Europa League group stage instead of Milan. Romagnoli is only 23-year-old and his price is already £44m, this means that he is a very talented defender and can achieve huge success during his career. United have to battle and increase the offer to sign Italian defender in this summer.
