The 22-year-old Serie A prodigy dreams of Arsenal move

November 4, 2017

Udinese midfielder, Antonin Barak, has confirmed that he’s an Arsenal fan who ‘went crazy’ for legend Thierry Henry when he was younger.

He said in the interview with the Gazzetta Dello Sport,

“I was and still I am an Arsenal fan. I went crazy for their legend Thierry Henry. These days, I watch Barcelona superstar Andrés Iniesta for his vision and first touch,”

He also added,

“I know that I need to be developed, and it doesn’t bother me where I end up. There are a lot of important teams in Italy. In Europe, Arsenal and Barcelona appeal to me.”

The 22-year-old midfielder only signed for Udinese in January, and his current contract expires in summer of 2022. Therefore, it’s doubtful that the Serie A team will be looking to sell the midfielder they bought €3m for less than a year ago.

The Czech Republic international has quickly established himself in the Italian side’s first team already, making nine appearances and scoring two this season.

Barak played for Slavia Prague before joining Udinese. He was only there for one season, but he has scored nine goals and assisted five times in 42 appearances.

The midfielder has been capped five times for the Czech Republic. He made his international debut in November 2016 and has scored four goals in that time.
