Watford are lining up axed Italy boss Gian Piero Ventura in case Marco Silva leaves for Everton, according to reports.
Silva has been heavily linked with taking charge at Goodison Park as the Toffees search for a replacement for Ronald Koeman.
The Watford boss has made a fine start to life at Vicarage Road and Everton have reportedly made him their preferred new manager.
It remains uncertain whether Silva will leave or stay put but if he does – according to Tuttosport – Ventura is in line to replace him at Watford.
The 69-year-old was recently sacked by Italy after failing to qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Russa.
However Watford’s owners, the Pozzo Family, are said to still be fans of Ventura’s talents and he would be in the running if a new manager had to be appointed.
