Former Man Utd forward Dimitar Berbatov has suggested that he can see Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane switching his Spurs jersey for the Red Devils when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
Kane cast doubt over his future at Tottenham Hotspurs in a Q&A session earlier this week when refusing to rule the possibility of departure from White Hart Lane in search of some silverware.
The Spurs are reluctant to offload their star forward and are rumoured to be holding out for a £200m offer from the Red Devils, who are in the market for another forward.
Berbatov has made the same switch back in 2008, winning four major honours with the Red Devils and can “see a lot of similarities” when it comes to questions over Harry Kane’s next move.
“This week I saw some comments from Harry Kane – he loves Spurs but if they aren’t going to be producing trophies then maybe it is time to leave,”
“I see a lot of similarities in the situation I went through and what is happening with Kane at the minute. There is a strong connection between Spurs and Manchester United, I was a Spurs striker and went to United and now Kane, who’s also a striker, is being linked with a move there.
“I feel that it’s also a similar time in his career that I was at, you start to think if you’re on the right path and you think about winning things. When I left Spurs, even though I had won a trophy with the club it was a still difficult decision to make.”
Kane’s current deal with Norht London club is set to end in the summer of 2024 and Daniel Levy is unlikely to agree and sell his star player less then £200m.
