49-goals in 44-games striker tipped to sign for Man Utd

Former Manchester United shot-stopper Tomasz Kuszczak has told Robert Lewandowski to sign for Manchester United and form a terrifying partnership in the final third with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Polish is nearing the end of another sensational season at Bayern Munich having bagged 48 goals but his future with the Bundesliga giants is uncertain.

He has one year left on his existing contract with talks over a renewal dragging on – with the 33-year-old said to be pushing for a two-year contract and a salary increase.

The Red Devils are in the market for a new striker with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo their only reliable option as the 2021-22 term draws to a close.

Reports have suggested the club favour a move for a younger solution, with Benfica’s Darwin Nunez believed to be on their shortlist.

But Tomasz, who spent five years at the Theatre of Dreams between 2007 and 2012, believes Die Roten man should be an option having discussed the transfer with his countryman in the past.

‘It would be fantastic to see him at Manchester United. I’ve had conversations with him about it and when he was back at Borussia Dortmund,’ he told Metro.co.uk courtesy of Bet365.

‘He had options during his previous move as his contract was expiring. I know for a fact that he was thinking about leaving Germany and going somewhere else. I know he loves Spanish football and has a connection with Real Madrid.

‘I’d love to see him at Manchester United, but we’ve spoken about that, and it would be fantastic if he could come and link up with Ronaldo. Him and Ronaldo upfront would be something.’
