According to Pianeta Milan reports, Arsenal defender William Saliba is among the possible candidates for a move to Serie A giants, AC Milan when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
However, the Gunners ideal scenario is a straight loan for the French defender back to Ligue 1, which gives Saint-Etienne the edge in the race for his signature.
Earlier this month Fabrizio Romano revealed that Milan tried to secure services of Saliba permanently over the summer. The Gunners immediately turned down the request, but they’re considering a loan for French centre-back.
Whilst Saint-Etienne are keen on a loan, it was clear with their attempts to secure one in the summer, Milan still seemingly prefer a permanent move, however, the Gunners only plan to sent him on loan in January.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the Gunners review Saliba’s situation ahead of the winter transfer window, admitting he regrets leaving him out from the North London’c clubs squad in the Europa League group stage. But for the time being, he’s still playing matches with the Arsenal academy.
Ideally, Arsenal supporters will see the 19-year-old at least make his debut under Arteta before leaving again.
