Emerson Palmieri’s agent has dropped a hint that Chelsea will not allow his client to depart from Stamford Bridge on loan term when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
The 26-year-old has only played one Premier League games for the West London club this campaign, having fallen down the pecking order following Ben Chilwell’s arrival at the club.
A number of Italian teams, including Inter Milan, have been rumoured with the Italy international in recent weeks, however, the 26-year-old full-back’s agent Fernando Garcia has ruled out a loan switch for his client.
“Absolutely not (will Emerson leave on loan). Chelsea eventually want to monetise his departure. Not having liquidity is a problem,” Garcia told FCInterNews.
Despite playing just eight games of Premier League football this campaign, Emerson did feature in four of the Blues six games in the group stage of the Champions League.
The former AS Roma defender has 18 months left to run on his current contract with Frank Lampard’s side and it seems that the Blues only consider him as a back-up for Ben Chilwell and player could be forced to leave the club in order to secure regular first-team football somewhere else.
