The agent of Liverpool and Man Utd transfer target Antony was reportedly in England this week.
The Brazilian winger’s representative Junior Pedrosa is believed to have been in the north-west for talks about a potential transfer ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Antony enjoyed a successful campaign under the new Man Utd head-coach, Erik ten Hag in the Eredivisie last year, founding back of the net 12 times as the Amsterdam side went on to win the league trophy. The Brazilian has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also keen on luring him at Anfield for the next season.
However, the transfer has hit a stumbling block over Ajax’s demands. The Duch giants are believed to demand around £68million for his services.
Now the Daily Mail and the Times claims that one of the forward’s agents, Pedrosa, has been spotted in Manchester. It is possible that he could be attempting to agree on personal terms for his client with the 20-times English champions in order to put pressure upon Ajax to sanction a quicker sale.
There is growing evidence that Ajax are preparing for life without Antony as they have secured the services of Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham Hotspur.
