Premier League rivals Liverpool and Man Utd have reportedly expressed their interest in securing the services of Atletico Madrid playmaker Saul Niguez.
The 26-year-old Spaniard has fallen out of favour under Argentine head coach, Diego Simeone, and following the arrival of Rodrigo De Paul from Serie A outfit Udinese, the La Liga winners are now willing to let the Spaniard leave this summer.
La Liga giants, Barcelona are the current frontrunners for his services, as they have entered talks with Atletico over a potential swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez.
However, according to AS, Liverpool and Man Utd are waiting in the wings and will make a move for the playmaker if talks with the Catalan giants failed to materialise, with the player’s agent having already held discussions with both teams.
Despite having five years left on his current deal, Saul is valued by Atletico at just £34.3m, a figure that both Premier League teams are prepared to pay.
Since making his senior debut in March 2012, Saul Niguez has played 337 games for Atletico, founding back of the net 43 times and providing 19 assists.
