Arsenal have submitted permanents contract offer for Chilean Marcelo after a strong trial at the club.

The teenager has spent the last month playing with the Gunners and has affected the coaching and playing staff rather earn a deal with the Premier League giants.

As reported by the Daily Mirror, the striker has trained with the first team, and the footballers have called him ‘Chile’.

He comes from the Cobreola youth system, the same as Alexis Sanchez, which has drawn similarities between the duo.

The story claims the North Londoners have been interested in the player for two seasons, however, due to FIFA rules, they’ve had to wait until his 18th birthday to offer him a deal.

Arsenal are now negotiating a deal with Marcelo in the hope to have him on board by the start of next season.

It could be one Chilean in and one out, with Man City appearing as frontrunners to Alexis Sanchez this summer according to the latest reports.

Meanwhile, after Arsene Wenger’s squad were beaten by Crystal Palace both Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher have released attacks on the Arsenal side.
