Manchester United experienced midfielder Ander Herrera is close to reaching an agreement with the Red Devils over a new deal, according to the reports.

As things stand, Ander Herrera will become a free agent in four months’ time when his existing contract expires.

The Red Devils have been locked in talks with the agent of the Spanish box-to-box midfielder since last year, but, and the Daily Mail reported that the negotiations are progressing well.

Ander Herrera has joined Manchester United from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao in a £29m transfer four-and-a-half years left, however, he was heavily linked with the Old Trafford exit earlier this campaign.

Since  Man United has been charge by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in mid-December, though, the ex-Athletic Bilbao ace has become a regular alongside with French superstar Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in central midfield and he recently revealed that he intends to remain on beyond this campaign.

A number of the Red Devils players are due to be out of the deal in the summer, though an agreement is also believed to be on the verge to agree on terms with Ashley Young.
