Unai Emery insists he is very happy with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s reaction to being replaced in the Gunners win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
The 29-year-old has played just 69 minutes on the left wing before he was replaced by Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan at St James’ Park.
Gabon international forward Aubameyang looked visibly unhappy with Unai Emery’s decision to bring him off, however, the Gunners head-coach is adamant that he wants his players to ‘be angry’ if they Emery said when asked about former Dortmund forwards reaction.
‘I want the players I change or don’t start in the first XI to be angry, they have the ambition to play and help the team and stay on the pitch.
‘For me it’s a normal situation.’
Goals from Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka sealed a 2-1 victory over the Gunners, who have secure nine points from their opening five games in the English top-tier.
Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil has backed Unai Emery that all the player have full support to Emery and his ideas to lead the team to the Champions League zone.
