Arsenal could replace Arteta with Brazil national team head-coach

Arsenal senior member Edu has reportedly opened negotiations to bring Brazil head coach Tite to the club.

The Gunners’ current manager Mikel Arteta has less than one-and-a-half year left to run on his present deal at the Emirates but is likely to be offered a fresh contract as the team push for a return to the UEFA Champions League.

He has been linked with a transfer away from North London in the latest weeks, though, with Paris Saint-Germain allegedly identifying the Spaniard as a perfect replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.

Now, TV Globo’s Eric Faria has stated that the technical director is already starting to work on bringing in his compatriot as a possible replacement, with Tite set to step down from his current post after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“There is already a negotiation of Tite to work in English football. To work at Arsenal. He worked with Edu Gaspar. There is the intention, negotiations have started,” Eric told reporters, as cited by ESPN.

The South American has won 53 of his 71 matches in charge of his country’s national team – lifting the 2019 Copa America title – and the 60-year-old tactician is understood to enjoy a serious personal relationship with the Gunners chief having worked alongside him with the Selecao and Corinthians.
