Arsenal have entered the hunt with Paris Saint-Germain to land Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to reports.
Paris Saint-Germain have already had a £21.5 million offer rejected by Everton but remain in talks. Arsenal, meanwhile, are keen to bolster their midfield and are on the verge of finalising a loan deal for Denis Suarez.
But according to Sky Sports, Arsenal are also interested in signing Gueye ahead of Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions have already purchased Leandro Paredes from Zenit and reports in France have stated that the club have now increased their bid to €30 million (£26.2m) for Gueye.
Everton denied reports that Idrissa had handed in a transfer request, while the 29-year-old star was missing from the squad for the 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening. ‘Gueye had a minor problem with his groin,’ said Marco Silva.
‘But to be honest with you and our fans, but after the match I found out if something new had happened because I expected your question about him.’
‘There is nothing new. He had a minor problem in his groin but the feedback I got after the match was there was nothing new, no new offers for him, he keeps being our player and I hope he can continue with us.’
