Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur in their reported interest for Norwich City defensive prodigy Ben Godfrey.
According to a recent report by the Daily Express, Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is already plotting his move for the 22-year-old English star in the summer transfer market.
It is understood that he has been monitored by Spurs, but there is also interest from the Gunners, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon too.
The report explains that the centre-half is valued at around £50 million and Mourinho could get a summer transfer budget to improve his defence, which is why his Norwich teammate Max Aarons is also being lined up in a potential £30m swoop.
Ben has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the Premier League in the latest years and this is his first campaign in the top-flight.
He is a ball-playing defender that is a regular for his side rooted to the bottom of the table at the moment, but he is someone that has caught the eye and has huge potential.
Spurs surely appears to be in the driving seat in terms of the chase for Ben ahead of Mikel Arteta’s side and there is no doubt they could do with some fresh blood at the back.
The Norwich ace is someone that is calm in possession and looks like he can play at a higher level, as well as being decent in the air too.
But it’d be a big jump in his career if he were to move for next campaign and whether he’d be ready remains to be seen.
