Arsenal attacking target Odsonne Edouard is set for sit down for discussions over his future with Celtic, according to a recent report in the Daily Star.
The Gunners are said to be interested in the Scottish side’s French striker, who has proven himself as a goalscorer in his three seasons at Celtic Park.
The 22-year-old star still has two years left on his current contract with Neil Lennon’s side but following the Hoops’ disappointing UCL exit, talks have surfaced about the immediate future of the forward.
Edouard, who remains Celtic’s record acquisition, arriving for £9 million from the Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain back in 2018.
Last term’s Scottish Premiership top goalscorer is now set for crunch talks with Celtic senior figures about his future, with Arsenal waiting in the wings.
In spite of being well-stocked in the striking department at the club, albeit Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang still has not put pen to paper on his new deal, he would present an affordable young forward who is proven to score goals.
Meantime, Arsenal will reportedly try to offload some of their senior team defenders in the coming weeks, having finally purchased the Brazilian centre-back, Gabriel Magalhaes, from Lille.
Gabriel’s arrival has boosted Mikel Arteta’s variants at the back, while the club can also call upon William Saliba during the 2020-21 term with the 19-year-old officially arriving at the club.
According to the Evening Standard, the London side will now look to balance the books and could part ways with as many as four first-team defenders before the end of the transfer market.
