Leicester City are one of the sides to have made an offer to Arsenal midfield target Otavio, who is set to quit Porto in the summer on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old star has his contract with Porto running out in the summer and is believed to have decided against extending his contract with the club.
Many clubs, including Mikel Arteta’s side, have been put on alert after the Brazilian rejected the chance to sign a fresh deal with the Portuguese outfit.
According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Foxes are one of the clubs keen on acquiring the services of the midfielder.
Apart from the Foxes, Italian Serie A sides Roma, Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan are also interested in signing the player, whose time at the Liga NOS heavyweights is nearing an end.
Napoli, Roma, AC Milan, Leicester and Milan are claimed to have made proposals to Otavio.
However, the Giallorossi are leading the race to land him, while AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has talked to Otavio over the phone.
With a host of clubs interested in snapping up Otavio, it remains to be seen if Brendan Rodgers’s side can convince the midfielder to move to the King Power Stadium.
The north Londoners are in the market for a playmaker like the South American, with the club’s technical director Edu telling a supporters’ forum:
“It’s quite clear what we need. We need a player with creativity in the middle, we don’t have that in the squad right now.”
