Arsenal eyeing move for Argentinian No.21 midfielder

Arsenal are among the clubs keen on securing the services of midfielder Guido Rodriguez, according to Fichajes.

The Real Betis star has become a hot commodity in the transfer window, owing to his excellent showings in La Liga.

The Gunners are joined by West Ham United in the hunt to sign the 27-year-old Argentine player, either next summer or in the January transfer market.

Los Verdiblancos have no intention to let their player leave the club for a cut-price, though. Guido, after all, has a contract at the club until 2024.

They are said to be looking at a sum of around €30 million for the prized asset, who had joined them for just €3 million, at the start of 2020.

Formerly of Club America, he has enjoyed immense success since his transfer to Spain in 2020.

In just under two seasons, the South American has notched up 65 competitive appearances for the Spanish outfit, emerging as an important figure in their midfield unit under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Mikel Arteta’s side are hoping to add a fresh player in their midfield setup.

Granit Xhaka’s injury has left the manager with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Thomas Partey as the only viable options in the middle of the pitch while the fringe figure of outcast Mohamed Elneny is tipped for a January move to Galatasaray.
