Arsenal eyeing move for creative Ligue 1 playmaker

Lyon would be ready to let Bruno Guimaraes sign for Arsenal on loan if a €45 million (£37.5 million) purchase clause is inserted in the agreement, according to reports.

The Gunners have pinpointed Guimaraes as a potential addition this January with Mikel Arteta keen to reinforce his midfield before the end of the market.

Arsenal are also said to be in advanced discussions with Juventus over a winter loan deal for Arthur.

Any deal for Bruno this month is expected to be difficult as Les Gones are desperate to retain his services at least until the end of the term.

But according to Get French Football, they’d be open to selling the 24-year-old if their asking price of would be prepared to let the Brazilian join the Gunners on loan if a €45 million (£37.5 million) is met.

The report adds that the Ligue 1 side would be open to letting the player leave on loan, but only if a compulsory purchase option of €45 million (£37.5 million) is included.

When quizzed about his future in the latest interview with Globo Esporte, the South American insists he’s placing his faith in his entourages to decide his long-term future: ‘It’s normal, even more in the window period.

‘When you’re an Olympic champion, you have a good season individually, you’re called up to the national team… it’s normal things in football. I don’t even like to think too much. I leave it more to my agents, for them to solve.

‘My objective is to take Lyon to the place where they deserve. We’re in the round of 16 of the Europa League, it’s a title that Lyon don’t have. Let’s fight hard to try to conquer it.’
