Arsenal are at the head of the queue to secure services of Espanyol playmaker Marc Roca during the summer transfer window, according to the reports.
The 23-year-old has played 33 games in all competitions for Spanish outfits this campaign, scoring up two goals and provided three assists in the process.
Marc Roca is widely expected to leave Espanyol at the end of the current campaign, however, and according to La Razon, the Gunners are the frontrunners to secure his services.
The report suggests that Arsenal head-coach Mikel Arteta is a long-term admirer of Marc Roca, and Espanyol are aware that they need to generate funds from the player’s exit with the threat of relegation looming.
The ex-Spain Under-21 international has a £35m release clause in his current deal, however, Espanyol have taken the financial implications from the coronavirus pandemic and could agree to lower the price tag in order to raise funds.
AC Milan and Everton have also believed to be credited with an interest in Spaniard, who will see his current contract at Espanyol expire in 2022.
The La Liga outfits will return to action against Alaves on Saturday Spanish top-tier resumes after a hiatus of nearly three months in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
