Arsenal may reportedly have been handed huge transfer boost in their pursuit of Manchester City centre-back John Stones.
The England international has fallen down the pecking order at City this campaign, and it could be a long way back for him now as Man City boss, Pep Guardiola has decided to target two defender signings in the summer, according to the Times.
This could be good news for the Gunners if they decide to try again for the City’s centre-back in the summer, having been rumoured with a move for the English defender in January by the Sun.
The 25-year-old English centre-back has long been tipped for a huge career at the highest level, however, things have not gone as expected for him at the North London club.
Still, the Gunners are pretty desperate for new signings to improve their backline, and John Stones could be a decent option for them if he does become available in the transfer market.
Some Arsenal supporters may be unconvinced by former Everton’s man following his recent decline, however, they can’t afford to be too picky right now after poor form from, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz.
Arsenal new boss Mikel Arteta will also know John Stones well from his time on the Citizens coaching staff, so could be well-placed to help him to make return to his best form.
