Arsenal have entered the race to sign 27-year-old Bundesliga defender

Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to secure services of Eintracht Frankfurt versatile defender Martin Hinteregger.

The North London club have been rumoured with signing a new centre-back for much of the 2019/20 campaign and those suggestions gathered pace following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Portuguese outfits Vitoria de Guimaraes, the fourth consecutive game in which they let a lead slip.

According to The Sun, the Gunners have identified the big 27-year-old defender as an answer to their issues at the backline.

Hinteregger, who joined Adi Hutter’s Frankfurt from Augsburg in the summer, has managed to found back of the net three times in nine appearences for the German side this campaign as they sit seventh in the Germany top-tier.

The report also suggested that West Ham United, who are without a win in six, are also eyeing a move for the 27-year-old defender and the Gunners will face a stiff competition to secure his services.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all tracking Real Madrid ace, Martin Odegaard, according to a report.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been hailed as one of the next big thing during his teenage years.

Odegaard moved to the Santiago Bernabeu at the age of 16 and has spent the bulk of the last few years out on loan.

The winger is at La Liga club Real Sociedad this term and has impressed thus far. His strong form and massive potential has now attracted attention from England’s top clubs.
