Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry for Napoli full-back Kevin Malcuit, according to recent reports in France.
Hector Bellerin suffered a campaign-ending knee injury during the Gunners’ victory over Chelsea earlier this month and Arsenal have been forced to scour the transfer market for reinforcements at right-back.
Swiss star Stephan Lichtsteiner has been far from convincing since signing for Arsenal last summer and Unai Emery is reluctant to play young Englishman Ainsley Maitland-Niles out of position for the remainder of the campaign.
France Football claims that the north London side have made an approach for Napoli right-back Malcuit to enquire about the Frenchman’s potential availability. Unai has prioritised a move for Kevin and has given the club the green light to lodge a bid.
Malcuit, who is competing with Elseid Hysaj and Nikola Maksimovic for the right-back berth at Partenopei, has made nine league starts under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
Emery has confirmed that the Gunners are working on two more deals ahead of winter transfer deadline day, with the likes of Denis Suarez and Ivan Perisic also heavily linked.
