Premier League outfits Newcastle United are considering a deal to secure the services of Arsenal midfield ace Stan Flaherty following a trial with the club.
Flaherty played for the Magpies under-18 side earlier this month in a 3-0 loss to the Merseyside Reds and the club are weighing up a deal for the creative midfielder.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United could secure the services of Flaherty due to his lack of game time at the North London club this campaign.
The report also suggested that he had a trial with the Hammers earlier this year.
Whilst it is almost impossible to tell if it would be a good signing, as under-18 games are not readily available to keep close tabs, it is impressive that the team are looking to invest in their youth set-up.
The fact that the Magpies are trying to improve their youth set-up and add more quality to their squad below the first-team shows that there is a clear plan in place.
The Premier League outfits are trying to bring through young players, much like the Longstaff brothers, which can only be a good thing.
Another Arsenal youngster Bakayo Saka has impressed for the Unai Emery’s side this season and become one of the kye players.
