Arsenal in real danger to miss out signing of former England international defender

Fulham are in pole position to secure services of Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill on a six-month loan deal, according to reports.

Experienced English defender has been strongly rumoured with a transfer to the direct PL rivals Arsenal as the centre-back targets more game time in the second half of the season.

The 31-year-old defender has hardly got a look-in since Maurizio Sarri took over at the Blues in the summer, and has made just seven games in total

Cahill has only managed to play 21 minutes of the Premier League football and is keen to move on this month.

The Sun reported that Fulham are on the verge on signing Cahill, as Claudio Ranieri aims to keep the Cottagers in the English top-tier this season despite being on the bottom of the table.

The Cottagers remain a point from safety and Ranieri hopes Cahill’s and his experiences could help him and his team to strengthen their backline and stop conceding goals in every game.

Meanwhile, Arsenal now seems to look elsewhere to strengthen their defensive end.
