Arsenal have joined the race to sign Club Brugge man Wesley Moraes during the January transfer window.
The striker has netted ten goals in 21 matches for the club so far this season, including seven in only 15 league games and two in the Champions League.
The 22-year-old’s form has attracted interest from around Europe, with Valencia and Fiorentina having also been linked with a move.
Arsenal are now thought to have joined the race too and are weighing up a £15 million offer in January as Unai Emery looks to increase the competition for attacking positions beyond Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Wesley Moraes’ contract with Belgian outfit does not expire until 2023, but the Belgian outfit may find it difficult to prevent the key man pushing for an exit if a club of Arsenal’s calibre come knocking.
The signing of a new centre-forward is not thought to be the Gunners’ priority in January, though, with Unai Emery looking for defensive reinforcements first and foremost.
Besides the full-back, Arsenal need a winger who could add more pace to the Gunners’ attack and make dangerous dribbles creating more chances for strikers.
