Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to secure the services of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old star has enjoyed a successful 2022-23 season, founding back of the net 21 times and providing four assists in 26 appearances.
Having registered 19 of those goals in the Serie A this term, Osimhen is currently the leagues highest goalscorer.
Osimhen has played a starring role in a Napoli side that are on the brink of ending their 33-year wait for Italian top-tier’s trophy with 15 points separating them from second place.
As a result of his impressive form, Osimhen is attracting interest from a number of top European teams, Man Utd, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all keeping close tabs on his signature.
However, according to Italian outlet RAI, Arsenal are currently favourites in the race to secure the Nigerian’s services as they look to strengthen their offensive end.
The current Premier League leaders would have to break their transfer record fee in order to lure 24-year-old to North London.
The report claims that Napoli would be looking to receive €150m (£133m) to let their star player leave club, which would break the British transfer record recently set by Arginine midfielder, Enzo Fernandez’s £106m January move to Chelsea.
