Arsenal made decision over future of £35m-rated defender

Arsenal are reportedly ready to listen to the offer for German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi after the season ends.

The Gunners head-coach Unai Emery has been told that he will have to raise most of the funds himself if he is to carry out an overhaul of his current team, with the Spaniard being given an initial budget of just £40m during the transfer window.

The Norht London clib were also limited to just loan deals during the January transfer window, and The Telegraph claimed that Unai Emery has identified German star as a prime candidate to sell to boost the teams transfer kitty.

The Germany international has reportedly joined the Gunners in 2016 and was the third-most expensive centre-back ever at the time he made a £35m switch from La Liga giants Valencia.

However, Shkodran Mustafi has regularly been criticised for his performances during that spell as part of an the Gunners defence which has consistently been among the worst in the English top-tier top six.

The 26-year-old defender has played 23 games for the Gunners across all competitions this campaign and is closing in on 100 outings for the team in total.
