Arsenal new signing aims to win Europe League trophy

The 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Denis Suarez has joined the Gunners on loan from Barcelona.

Spaniard is targeting a successful loan spell at the Norht London club and wants to win the Europa League after reuniting with Unai Emery.

The Catalan club’s playmaker has joined the North London club on deadline day after agreeing to a loan switch until the end of the 2018/19 season.

The Gunners have the option to make his move permanent in the summer, with the player himself having signed a contract extension with the Catalan club before completing the move.

Former Man City starlet has played under the Gunners head coach Emery while his loan spell at Sevilla back in 2014/15 season.

Together they won the Europa League title as Denis Suarez was an unused substitute in the 3-2 win against Dnipro in the final.

Now he wants similar success at the North London club after admitting he was keen to make the switch to Arsenal on the deadline day of the January transfer window.

“I’ve come here to play as much as possible and try to help the team qualify for the Champions League,” he told arsenal.com.

“I’d like to win the Europa League with Arsenal too – why not? It’s a trophy I won under Unai Emery at Sevilla and I’d love to win it again here.

“I’m very pleased to be here and to be joining Arsenal. I’ve been pushing hard to come here. I’m finally here now and I’m really pleased.”
