Arsenal on the verge to announce signing of Hertha Berlin wonderkid

Bundesliga outfits Hertha Berlin starlet Omar Rekik is seemingly on the verge of making switch to the Emriates Stadium.


Arsenal had been keen to secure the services of the 18-year-old during the summer transfer window, however, the deal has never been materlised and now it seems that they on the final stages of the negotiations with the German club about Rekik’s transfer to North London club.

However, it has previously been reported that the defender would eventually make move to the Emirates Stadium at the beginning of 2021.

On Thursday, Rekik took to Instagram to show that he had boarded a flight to London, a development which will only intensify speculation regarding a move to the Arsenal.

Should the Dutch-born player sign a deal with the Gunners, he would likely spend time in the academy setup or being loaned out in the championship team or back to Hertha Berlin in order to gain valuable first-team minutes.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are eyeing a swoop for Fabio Vieira and are ready to open talks over a possible deal for the Porto talent, according to reports in Portugal.

The 20-year-old midfielder rose through Porto’s academy ranks to make his senior team debut at the end of last season and is widely considered as one of the finest young talents in the Primeira Liga.

The Portugal youth international has picked up where he left off at the start of this season and his outstanding performances have caught the attention of some of Europe’s teams, including Arsenal and Marseille.
