Arsenal planning double swoop for Premier League attacking pair

Arsenal have reportedly identified Ollie Watkins and  Dominic Calvert-Lewin as potential replacements for Alexandre Lacazette.

Having entered the final year of his deal as a backup to Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, will almost certainly be allowed to depart from the Emirates Stadium in 2022.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also turning 33 years of age next summer, Mikel Arteta is under pressure to bring in a younger attacker.

According to The Sun, the North London giants are taking an interest in Everton’s forward Calvert-Lewin and Aston Villa’s Watkins.

Calvert-Lewin scored 16 times in the Premier League the last campaign, with Watkins netting just two strikes fewer during his first year in the top flight.

A likely stumbling block is the length of each player’s deal with the duo being tied to their respective clubs until 2025.

Meanwhile, Serie A giants, AC Milan have reportedly been offered the opportunity to secure the services of Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette who will become a free agent in the summer unless he signs a contract extension.

Despite having less than a year left on his deal, Lacazette remained with the Gunners during the summer transfer window.

However, the Frenchman has featured for just 31 minutes in the English top-tier thus far, making it increasingly likely that he will be allowed to leave the club in 2022.

According to Calciomercato, the North London giants have asked AC Milan whether they are interested in adding the 30-year-old in January or next summer.
