Liverpool face the prospect of missing out on Lyon’s versatile midfielder Houssem Aouar, with their direct Premier League rivals Arsenal seemingly confident they can get the deal done for the player.

According to a report from the Mirror, the North London club are hopeful about their chances of finalising te transfer because of the player’s relationship with Alexandre Lacazatte with whom he worked.

Speaking about the French forward, Aouar said:

“I was lucky, I got a lot of help. Alexandre Lacazette took me under his wing. Alex talked to me a lot, pointed out the stuff I needed to work on, notably my finishing. We worked a lot on that”

Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool have all been linked with moves for the services of the Frenchman as he continues to impress in French division.

Recent reports have claimed that the Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri is eager to bring him into his midfield, while the Gunners scouts have also been keeping close tabs on him for some time.

Despite his being only 20-year-old Frenchman has impressed and hosts of Premier League and European teams are ready to splash money for his signature.
