Arsenal eyeing move for £25.7m La Liga star
Arsenal are reportedly making moves to land Barcelona’s Sergino Dest as the club seek full-back reinforcements.
The north Londoners are in the midst of a summer overhaul at the club and Hector Bellerin could be one of the men to depart.
A move to Inter Milan is on the cards which would leave the gunners looking for a replacement.
They are one of the multiple clubs who have been tracking Serginio, with Juventus and Bayern Munich also keen.
But Arsenal, according to Sport, have made an approach to snap up the American, who is rated at £25.7m.
Dest has no desire to quit Barcelona having been a starter under Ronald Koeman last season.
However, the Catalan giants are desperate to raise funds as they plan to finalise Lionel Messi’s new deal and register new signings.
Arsenal meantime are in the midst of negotiating with multiple players and they look to bounce back from a poor campaign.
They have completed the £17 million signing of Anderlecht midfielder Sambi Lokonga.
A £50m sum has also been agreed with Brighton for defender Ben White with a medical booked for later this month.
William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi have both left north London on loan whilst Granit Xhaka is poised to seal a move to Roma.
Arsenal are continuing their pre-season campaign and battled to a draw with the Scottish club Rangers at the weekend.
Arsenal eyeing move for £25m Norwich City defender
Arsenal are ready to move for Max Aarons with the Norwich City defender set to cost £25m or more, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Gunners are aware of the current situation at right-back, with Hector Bellerin increasingly looks like leaving in this window.
Inter Milan are currently the team showing keen interest in the Spaniard, while Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona had kept tabs in the past.
The Nerazzurri is considered the likely destination, quitting Arsenal in need of a suitable replacement.
The Gunners have Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares in their ranks, but Arteta looks for a star with different attributes than the pair.
Max Aarons is currently viewed to be that player, and he surely could fit the profile for the North London outfit.
At only 21-years-old, Max has good experience playing football in his country. He already has two EFL Championship titles and also a full Premier League campaign under his belt with Norwich before.
He played 45 times in the Championship last term, scoring twice and assisting five goals. The Englishman is considered one of the Canaries’ prized possessions and could be sold to raise funds this summer.
The club have withstood high profile interest in Max before. Barcelona and Manchester United have shown interest in the right-back previously.
But Max eventually stayed at Norwich City to see his development through. He may now be prepared for a move elsewhere.
Arsenal eyeing move for 26-year-old Serie A star valued at £42m
Arsenal and their city and league rivals Tottenham Hotspur could allegedly have to pay as much as £42 million should they wish to land Lazio attacker Joaquin Correa during this summer’s transfer market.
The 26-year-old netted 11 times and registered six assists in 38 outings at club level during the 2020-21 season, while the forward was also in action for Copa America champions Argentina this summer.
The Gunners and Spurs have both been touted with an interest in the player, who has 30 goals and contributed 18 assists in 117 appearances for Lazio since joining the White and Sky Blues from the La Liga outfit Sevilla in 2018.
According to a recent report from an Italian media outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Biancocelesti are prepared to part with the sought-after South American attacker this summer but would demand a sum of between £34 million and £42 million for his services.
A previous report stated that Mikel Arteta’s side had made a £17 million transfer offer for Correa, which had been turned down.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest in the player, who still has three years left to run on his current deal with his Serie A club.
