Typically deployed as a forward, the Englishman has been used as an auxiliary full-back a few times this campaign, however, has put in more than admirable shifts in an unfamiliar position.

Arsenal are reportedly demanding £70m for their key man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to The Mirror, the Gunners are to remain firm on a £70m price tag for Gabon international forward, despite the fact that the forward has allegedly turned down a new deal worth £350,000-per-week.

The report also claims that Spanish giants pursuit of Lautaro Martinez could pave the way for former Dortmund forward to make the move to Antonio Conte’s side, with Barcelona looking for replacements for the injured Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez.

Aubameyang has found back of the net 57 times in 92 games for the North London club since joining from Dortmund in 2018.

Arsenal set to hijack PSG move for €30m-rated Ligue 1 defender

After the latest developments that forced Manchester City’s banning from the UEFA Champions League for the next two years, Arsenal are now capable challenge for a spot for the next season in Europe’s most elite competition.

The whole squad needs to be strengthened after the end of the current campaign. However, the centre of defence is a particular problem.

Their current players are injury prone and most of them are over 30, so it makes sense that a new defender is expected to join the Gunners after the end of the current campaign.

The big problem for the North London club is that anyone they can afford will probably attract interest from other teams and Lille defender Gabriel seems to also have the same scenario.

Everton and PSG are also have been strongly interested in securing the services of his signature and ready to battle Arsenal in order ot lure him away from Lille.

Talented defender is believed to be valued at around €30m, and Ligue 1 champions, PSG have identified him as a long-term replacement for their captain Thiago Silva.

The talented Brazilian defender is only 22 and could have a bright future either he makes a move to Arsenal or PSG.

The Gunners have done some business with Ligue 1 giants Lille in recent years – most notably to secure the services of Nicolas Pepe earlier las Summer – so that could also work in their favour.
