Arsenal sent officials to finalise deal for Sporting Lisbon ace

Arsenal have reportedly sent officials to Portugal as they attempt to secure services of Sporting Lisbon forward Joelson Fernandes in the nearby future.

The 17-year-old played four league games for Sporting in the latter stages of their 2019-20 league season, having started training with the first-team squad after the lockdown period.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the promising forward in recent weeks, and the North London club are allegedly prepared to pay £40.8m to secure the services of the attacker during this summer’s transfer window.

According to A Bola, despite interest from elsewhere, Arsenal are in pole position to secure a deal and have sent officials to Portuguese giants, Sporting Lisbon in the hope of reaching an agreement with the club.

As well as featuring on four occasions for Sporting’s first team, Joelson also managed to found back of the net five times and provided two assists in 28 games for his teams Under-23 side during the 2019-20 season.

Serie A champions Juventus and Spanish giants Barcelona also keeping tabs on the situation and ready to lure the Portuguese winger away from Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal also eyeing a move for another Portuguese talent Gelson Martinez who is currently playing for at Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.

Arsenal boosted in their pursuit of 23-year-old La Liga star

La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly open to offers for Ousmane Dembele when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.

The France international has largely struggled with injuries since making a switch to the Spanish giants in a big-money transfer from Dortmund ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Hamstring issues have restricted the 23-year-old to just five La Liga games this season, with his last appearances for the Catalan club coming back in November 2019.

France international forward now has less than two years left on his current deal with the Spanish giants and according to Sport, the Catalan’s are willing to listen to offers for the 2018 World Cup winning forward ahead of next campaign.

The report suggests that several teams have been in talks to discuss Dembele, however, there has not yet been an official offer for the right-sided forward.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Manchester Utd and Arsenal are both interested in securing the services of French winger.

The Red Devils tried to lure him at Old Trafford during the winter transfer window, however, the deal has never been materialised.

The Gunners meanwhile are in the market for offensive reinforcements and they plan to use Alexandre Lacazette’s relationship in order to lure him at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal eyeing a move for 27-year-old La Liga star

Arsenal are reportedly ready to do battle with Man City and Liverpool for the services of Sevilla defender Diego Carlos.

Despite the fact that the Gunners are expected to be working with a severely-restricted transfer budget in the summer, head-coach Mikel Arteta is believed to be planning massive squad overhaul this summer.

The North London club head-coach has supposedly identified the defence as a priority area to strengthen his team ahead of the 2020-21 season, however, Carlos’s hefty price tag could hinder a swoop for Brazilian centre-back who has been in stunning form for Sevilla this season.

According to The Telegraph, Sevilla may be prepared to lower their price tag for Carlos, who currently possesses a £68m release clause, however, the La Liga outfit will demand £50m for the Brazilian defender.

The report suggests that the Gunners could sanction the sales of out-of-favour midfield duo Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi to aid their pursuit of Carlos, however, the North London club would have to fend off interest from Man City and Liverpool to land the highly sought-after defender.

Carlos chalked up 35 La Liga games for Sevilla in the most recent season, as Julen Lopetegui’s team finished fourth in the La Liga table and secure spot in the Champions League.
