Arsenal set to announce signing of 25-year-old Brazilian forward within days

Arsenal could supposedly announce the transfer of Manchester City centre-forward Gabriel Jesus in the upcoming days.

The Brazil international has seemingly emerged as the North London giants’ top transfer target to lead the line in the absence of the departed Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Eddie Nketiah has committed himself to a new five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, however, Mikel Arteta is still after at least one new No.9 ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Mikel Arteta and Jesus worked alongside one another during their time with the Citizens, and the latter is heavily expected to depart the Premier League giants in the current window.

The 25-year-old forward was not an indispensable member of Pep Guardiola’s first XI last season and is set to be pushed down the pecking order by Julian Alvarez and Erling Braut Haaland.

Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Brazilian forward, however, the Gunners are believed to be leading the race for his services.

According to Goal, Jesus’s proposed move to the Gunners is inching ever closer, and the North London giants may be in a position to announce his signing before the end of the week.

Arsenal are said to have already had a £30m bid rejected by City, however, the North London club are confident of agreeing a fee within days.
