Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry over the availability of Germany and Paris Saint-Germain star Thilo Kehrer.
The 24-year-old defender has been at the Ligue 1 club since 2018 when the Parisians paid Schalke €37m (£33.3m) for his services after starting his professional career impressively in the Bundesliga.
The versatile player has made 94 appearances for the French giants since then but has been far from a regular in the starting eleven.
Thilo made 19 Ligue 1 starts in his first campaign and that has proved to be his best thus far, with just five in 2019/20 and 16 last season.
Some of this has been down to injuries, but Kehrer has not been able to command the regular place he’d have hoped for when purchased for such a huge fee.
Arsenal are keen on capitalising on the situation, with French outlet Foot Mercato reporting that Mikel Arteta’s side have made an enquiry for Kehrer.
The Parisians’ response is not yet known, but Thilo is an option Arsenal are considering as the club search for a new centre-half and their pursuit of Brighton’s Ben White drags on.
Kehrer has two years left on his deal at the Parc de Princes, expiring in 2023, meaning PSG are not under immediate pressure to sell, but with the arrival of Spain legend Sergio Ramos, the side are likely to consider proposals they feel are fair.
