Arsenal set to make approach for 6 ft 5 Serie A forward

Arsenal are planning to add multiple reinforcements in the final third in the summer because of their failed pursuit of a number nine in January and the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are likely to follow suit at the end of the term with their current contracts set to expire.

It’s a fact that Mikel Arteta will be in the transfer market for at least one centre-forward and for that reason the wheels are already in motion as the manager compiles his shortlist.

Sassuolo’s prized possession Gianluca Scamacca’s name appears to be on it with the Gunners reportedly keeping tabs on the 23-year-old star, who is impressing in Serie A.

Newcastle United have also been linked with the frontman dubbed the ‘next Zlatan Ibrahahimovic’ as the Italian’s style of play has been likened to the Sweden international because of his towering 6ft5 frame.

But it’s Inter Milan who are in pole position to land his services as club transfer officials Beppe Marotta and Giovanni Carnevali have met over the past several weeks to discuss a move for the player, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report states Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have also made approaches for him who has scored nine goals this term.
