Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The January transfer window has recently ended, however, the Premier League teams are continuing to identify possible signings ahead of the new season.

According to Sky Sports News, the Spurs and the Gunners are both showing strong interest in Germany international defender as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

The North London club have struggled to keep clean sheets all campaign, while Tottenham may have to replace Belgian star Toby Alderweireld who has a release clause in his deal.

Ginter – formerly of Dortmund – has enjoyed a strong 18 months at Monchengladbach with 54 starts being made in all competitions.

The 25-year-old has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal with Bundesliga club, although Monchengladbach can extend his stay at the club for further more one year.

Meanwhile, Arsenal head-coach Unai Emery has reportedly identified Genk forward Leandro Trossard as their top transfer target this summer.

The Norht London club have been keeping close tabs on Trossard since the November and were rumoured with a January move, although their strict budget essentially ruled out the chance of signing him to the Emirates Stadium during the January transfer window.
