Chelsea are reportedly favourites to secure the services of the Middlesbrough youngster Calum Kavanagh who has been rumoured with a switch to Arsenal.
While the 16-year-old forward is yet to make his first-team debut for the North-East club, Championship side are keen to tie down the prospect to a long-term contract at the Riverside Stadium.
However, The Sun reports that the talented forward is attracting interest from the Premier League teams, with Arsenal and Chelsea monitoring the situation.
Much could depend on whether Middlesbrough are able to reach a compromise with Kavanagh, who is believed to be open to stay at the Championship outfits providing that it is on a contract shorter than what is currently has been offered.
Should the young Irishman depart the Championship outfits, Chelsea are regarded as the favourites for his services as Frank Lampard places an emphasis on bringing through promising talent at the West London club.
Kavanagh has found back of the net six times from 13 games in the U18 Premier League this campaign.
